Country of the Week is not about adding more rigid requirements to your plate. In the words of one of our homeschooling families, there are no wrap ups before Christmas, evaluation points, or units to complete before vacation. Instead, think of it as a dynamic, organic and engaging supplement to the fantastic curriculum you've already put in place.
We firmly believe in fostering a love for learning that extends beyond textbooks and lesson plans. With a focus on making education enjoyable and flexible, our program introduces a variety of ways to learn about the world, all through the lens of a different country—every single week.
Country of the Week is meant to be a tool that seamlessly integrates into your homeschooling routine, adding an element of fun while helping your children gain a broader understanding and appreciation of the world around them. Together, let's raise a generation of understanding, curious, empathic and globally-minded children.
Designed for families with children ages 5 - 10 years old, members of COTW are provided with easy-to-use building blocks to explore a new country each week just as Dave and his family did. Gorgeous country profile sheets, colouring sheets, word searches, recommended videos and so much more are yours with the simple click of a button.
How to get started with Country of the Week
All you need are three simple things
A membership with Country of the week
Every week a new and exciting country will be unlocked for you. You will receive an email notification hinting at your new country and it will bring you back here to discover what adventures and activities await!
An awesome world map
Upon signup, we will supply a list of recommended sources for purchasing your world map (National Geographic ones are our favourites!). Really though, any map will do, provided it accurately shows every country in the world. (You might use a globe or atlas too, but those will probably be less engaging.)
A sign holder
for displaying your weekly country profile sheet beside your awesome world map (optional, but highly recommended). We will suggest a few from places like Office Depot or Staples. The profile sheets are formatted to US Letter size (216 x 269 mm or 8-1/2” x 11”).

What will the order of countries be?
The order of the countries has been carefully determined so that you will move all over the world from large countries to small countries, well known countries to lesser known countries, and from one continent to another.
How and what do we receive each week?
You will receive a weekly notification email, a beautiful country profile sheet and other activities for printing and join a passionate community of others on the same adventure. The country profile sheets contain basic country information and a few interesting facts about each country.
What will we actually do each week?
Every week you will find the new country on your world map and have fun with the activity sheets. Over time, the Country Profile Sheets will fill a binder and become one of your children's most prized possessions. You may find your children showing off to friends and family as they locate each country on your map.
